    • All student absences MUST be reported.
      • A reason must be given for absence either by calling the attendance mailbox (732-741-4022  then press #2-report an absence ), email to ghall@littlesilver.k12.nj.us , or a note PRIOR to absence. Unreported absences are considered unexcused.
      • If a student is absent more than 5 consecutive days, a doctor's note is required.
      • A written statement of the cause of each absence is required immediately upon return to school.
      • When a child is to be excused during school hours, please notify the office in writing, in advance.
      • The child must be signed out by the parent in the school office.
    • Student Emergency Information.
      • Please complete BOTH sides of the emergency card; make sure you sign the cards.
      • Inform the office or nurse of any changes in how to reach you.
      • Be sure that the people you list are available to come to get your child if you cannot be reached. If that person is someone we do not know, we will ask to see a form of ID as proof of identity. Indicate ANY prescription medications/dosages your child takes outside of school hours and contact the nurse if this changes.
    • Lice MUST be reported as soon as possible.
      • The best way to control the spread of lice is to report it to the nurse immediately so the rest of the class can be checked to see if there are more cases.
    • Students are not permitted to carry ANY medication, including over the counter, to school.
      • All medication (both prescription and OTC) must be accompanied by a doctor's note and must be in the original package (prescription label for prescription medications).
    • DO NOT send your child into school sick.
      • Fevers are considered to be 100 degrees or higher WITHOUT taking a fever reducing medication. Students MUST be below 100 degrees for 24 hours without fever reducing agents in order to return to school. Body temperature is normally lower in the morning - it could rise later in the day.
