School Procedures

Cell Phones/i-Watches and other Communication Devices

Students may bring cell phones/i-Watches to school for use after school hours, however, these communication devices must be turned off during the day and left in lockers or backpacks. Students are not allowed to carry cell phones or wear i-Watches during the hours of school operation (8:05-2:55 at Point Road and 8:07-3:00 at Markham Place).  Any student abusing these rules will have their phone/watch confiscated. Parents will be called to pick up the phone.  Subsequent infractions will result in disciplinary consequence. Under no circumstances are students permitted to use their cell phones to take photographs in school.

Markham Place Dress Code

Dress or appearance that distracts from the educational process is not permitted, and pupils who are found to be in unsuitable dress will be required to obtain appropriate clothing.  This may result in parents/guardians having to bring a change of clothing to school.

The dress code states the following:

  • Clothing with inappropriate language or messages (implied or stated) and images, are not acceptable.
  • Only mid-thigh, walking shorts are permissible (after spring break).  No spandex, boxer-type, running or short-shorts are allowed.
  • Short miniskirts are not permitted.
  • Pants must be worn at waist level.
  • Shoes must be worm at all times.  No backless footwear is permitted (including flip flops).
  • Hats, caps or head coverings are not permitted inside the school.
  • See through shirts, shirts that expose midriffs, bare shoulders or tops with spaghetti straps are not permitted.
  • Gym clothing is allowed during gym class only.  Pupils wearing shorts must bring an addition pair to change into for gym.
  • Sneakers with wheels or “heelies” are not permitted under any circumstances.
  • Leggings should be worn with a skirt, dress or shorts that are appropriate length.


Students that are not in compliance with the school dress code will be sent to the main office.  Along with acquiring appropriate clothes, a disciplinary consequence may be enforced. 

Point Road Dress Code

Students are expected to dress neatly and appropriately for school.  Dress or appearance that distracts from the educational process is not permitted and students unsuitably dressed will be requested to return home to change into appropriate clothing. 

  • Clothing with inappropriate language or messages (implied or stated) and images are not acceptable.
  • Shoes must be worn at all times. No backless footwear is permitted (including flip flops).
  • Hats, caps or head coverings are not permitted inside the school. 
  • Sneakers are required for gym, sneakers with wheels or “heelies” are not permitted under any circumstances.
  • Students should not bring or wear expensive items such as jewelry, CD players, iPods, etc. to school as the school will not be responsible for theft or less.
