Full Time, 12-Month Technology Support Specialist
Qualifications:
- Two years of college or related computer installation, maintenance and repair experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed.
- Must possess and maintain a valid New Jersey driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
- The ability to lift 40lbs and climb ladders as needed
- Must possess exceptional organizational, written, and oral communication skills
- Act as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems and provide support with equipment setup for presentation, data access needs; and selection of appropriate hardware and software to address task requirements
- Install, assemble, configure, and repair computers, network infrastructure and peripheral equipment such as printers, scanners, and related hardware.
- Experience preferred with supporting Windows environments and Google Workspace for Education.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing chromebooks, projectors, Newline boards, and IP telephones
- Assist Network Administrator in the development of annual and multi-year plans for purchase, distribution, and replacement of technology equipment
- Conducts new employee training that includes district network procedures, policies, and access to district technology platforms.
- Assist in instructing district staff in the use of standard business and administrative software, including word processing, spreadsheets, database management, and provide assistance to users with standard district hosted systems, provide instruction or written documentation where required

REQUIREMENTS
- Black Seal License required
- Eligible for or holds Educational Facilities Management Certificate
- Experience in construction and/or property management, with capability to work in supervisory capacity
- Knowledge of architecture, school construction, engineering, plant operation, maintenance and management, health and safety regulations, and school safety
- Required criminal history background check and proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assumes responsibility for the comprehensive overall planning, scheduling and performance of maintenance and repair requirements of the district’s schools, office facilities and grounds.
- Establishes appropriate maintenance, groundskeeping, security and custodial requirements for each school building and installation.
- Maintains schedules of work for each individual building including custodial overtime.
- Participates in the hiring, assignment, and supervision of custodial, maintenance and groundskeeping staff.
- Evaluates custodial staff on an annual basis.
- Coordinates work activities of custodial staff in special situations, i.e. snow removal, graduation, emergency closings, etc.
- Organizes and implements an orientation program on proper operation and maintenance of school facilities for custodial personnel.
- Establishes and supervises summer cleaning programs and schedules.
- Determines and establishes detailed specifications pertaining to supplies, materials, equipment and local contract work.
- Recommends for purchase necessary equipment and supplies and maintains an inventory of them.
- Ensures proper maintenance and operation of department equipment, including motorized vehicles, tools and machinery.
- Keeps abreast of new work methods, procedures and equipment.
- Inspects all school buildings, grounds and installations on a regular basis to determine that high standards of workmanship, cleanliness, safety and security are maintained.
- Plans and implements a program of preventive maintenance.
- Assumes responsibility for Right-to-Know data practices, procedures and record-keeping under the direction of the School Business Administrator.
- Inspects and maintains fire alarm systems, fire extinguishers, clock systems, HVAC, plumbing, boiler, lighting and other systems on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Assists in the preparation and administration of the budget for maintenance, grounds, security and custodial supplies and equipment.
- Supervises and inspects the improvement and renovation work performed by outside contractors, and verifies that the terms of all such contracts have been fulfilled before authorizing final payments.
- Confers with school principals, landscape architects and other parties in making plans for landscaping, planning and maintenance of various school grounds.
- Ensures that standards consistent with all applicable local, state and federal laws are maintained.
- Maintains such records as are required by board policy or law.
