Data Manager/Technology Support Specialist
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or related experience or professional training in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Processing, or Information Systems.
Experienced with education and management/domain-based platforms, including NJSMART, student information systems, Google Admin Console/Workspace, and Microsoft Active Directory.
Strong understanding of manipulating, editing, and automating processes about databases and spreadsheets with a high degree of accuracy.
Possess strong analytical and organizational skills, excellent integrity, and good moral character and initiative.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate with school personnel, parents, students, and central office staff effectively, orally, and in writing while complying with the confidentiality requirements in local, state, and federal policies and statutes.
Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
Job Responsibilities:
Administer all aspects of district data management, ensuring the effective functioning of various databases and web-based/software data management programs.
Manage and maintain designated district standardized reporting for district records (i.e., NJ SMART), including staff information, student information, enrollment, attendance, and assessment.
Manage, utilize, and maintain the district’s student information system.
Support and maintain the creation of procedures that will lead to accurate data input.
Support extracting and exporting data from the student database/information system into other programs.
Design and generate special reports/electronic files and assist various departments by providing digital data as necessary.
Oversee and transfer all data into standardized testing and other student assessment programs and provide support for testing platforms.
Troubleshoot software, database, and web-based problems and errors relating to various SIS and education-based platforms.
Act as a technical resource and assistant for users to resolve problems with hardware equipment and software/data.
Create and manage user accounts and rosters for various digital subscriptions throughout the district.
Act as primary registrar for students entering the district and ensure accurate coding and reporting in the student database/information system.
Upholds and enforces school rules, administrative regulations and board policy.
Perform other duties of a similar nature or level at the direction of the Network Administrator, Director of Curriculum & Instruction, or the Superintendent of Schools.
