About Our District
The Little Silver School District is a Pre-K – 8 suburban district located in Eastern Monmouth County. Of the two district schools, the Point Road School houses Pre-K through fourth grade, and the Markham Place School houses fifth through eighth grade. The district has an outstanding reputation and high student achievement levels. Our high quality staff works diligently to ensure that the curriculum reflects the rigor of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards in all content areas. Additionally, the Little Silver community supports the district through their involvement in various organizations including the PTO and the Education Foundation of Little Silver. These organizations provide learning opportunities to our students and fundraise to support the purchasing of resources that enhance our programs.

Attendance
The Little Silver Board of Education requires that the pupils enrolled in the schools of this district attend school regularly in accordance with the laws of the State. The educational program offered by this district is predicated upon the presence of the pupil and requires continuity of instruction and classroom participation. Students must be present a minimum of four (4) hours in order to receive credit for the day. Attendance and punctuality shall be required of all students enrolled in the schools during the days and hours that the school is in session. For their safety, children should not be permitted to arrive at school more than 15 minutes before opening school times. There is no supervision of children who arrive before 7:50 AM. In order for a student to attend extra-curricular activities or participate in sporting events, they must be in school on that date. A report card will record the number of times the pupil was absent and tardy for each month.
Please review our absence procedure page for our attendance policy, as well as instructions for reporting an absence.
Food Services
The Little Silver School District is proud to partner with Simplified Culinary Services to provide nutritious meals and promote healthy habits.
The district offers MySchoolBucks, an online payment service that provides a quick and easy way to add money to your student's meal account using a credit or debit card or electronic check. You can view recent purchases, check balances, and set up low-balance alerts for free.
Please review our Food Services page to view monthly menus, price lists, and more information on MySchoolBucks.
Technology
The Little Silver Technology Department is responsible for the administration and maintenance of the entire technology infrastructure of the Little Silver School District. The Technology Department supplies students and staff with the appropriate training, resources, and support to empower, engage, and evolve in this ever-changing technological landscape.
Chromebooks are assigned to every student from Kindergarten to grade 8, with Chromebook insurance being charged through the Genesis Parent Portal/MySchoolBucks to help cover the cost of any repairs a student might incur throughout the year.
Please review the Technology Department page to view technology use, device assignment, and more information on Chromebook Insurance.
Parent/Guardian Communication

Little Silver Boro School District has a mobile app to help students, parents, and community members know what is happening on campus from their phones. Most families use their phones as a primary means of communication, so we've created an app custom-built for smartphones. On the app, students, parents, and community members can read the latest announcements, locate staff contact information, review upcoming events, and find important documents. The Little Silver Boro School District app is available to download free from the Apple App Store or the Google Play store.
