LITTLE SILVER PUBLIC SCHOOLS
NOTICE REGARDING LIVE STEAM OF DISTRICT ATHLETIC EVENTS
On Monday, November 30, 2020, Governor Philip D. Murphy signed Executive Order 204, which halted all indoor sports practices and competitions in New Jersey in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Effective, January 2, 2021, indoor scholastic, youth, and adult recreational sports games and practices in New Jersey have resumed, with restrictions. Among these restrictions, spectators are unable to attend games or practices if the total number of players, coaches, and officials exceeds the State’s current ten (10) person limit on indoor gatherings.
AS A RESULT, LITTLE SILVER PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT INTENDS TO LIVE STREAM VIDEO OF ATHLETIC COMPETITIONS FOR INTERESTED MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC TO VIEW.
While there are great benefits as to the accessibility of live streaming, we recognize the potential concerns regarding student privacy in the digital age. Indeed, during streaming, your child’s image [and personally identifiable information (e.g. photo/image, name, grade level, and school)] may be viewed by members of the general public.
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT BY PARTICIPATING IN ATHLETICS, YOU ARE ON NOTICE OF AND CONSENT TO LIVE STREAMING OF ATHLETIC CONTESTS.
