Due to the ongoing construction at Markham, tomorrow night's BOE meeting (8/21) will be held in classroom 304 in the rear of the building. Please use entrance #11 to enter the building. See the yellow star on the image below. The meeting will begin at 7 PM.

The New Jersey Department of Education created an End-of-School-Year Packet and asked all districts to distribute it to parents and students. The link below will direct you to the packet, which includes New Jersey State resources and helpful tips to keep families safe and healthy through the summer. The Balance Project is hosting a private screening of “Screenagers: Growing up in the digital age” on 5/28 in Fair Haven. Through poignant and unexpectedly humorous stories, paired with surprising insights from leading experts, Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age reveals how screens are shaping kids’ development. Dear Little Silver Schools Community, As partners in the education and safety of our kids, I wanted to make you aware of a social media trend that has gained some popularity among kids all over the country. Students throughout the country are sticking paper clips, push pins, and graphite pencils into the Chromebook ports trying to short them out. If shorted successfully, the device may go up in smoke/fire causing a hazard for students/families and become damaged beyond repair. More importantly, as the device's battery shorts, it may release enough toxic smoke to fill a classroom or home and trigger the fire alarms. Secondly, I wanted to make you aware that if a student does this in school, we will take it very seriously because it impacts overall student safety. Not only will there be serious consequences and the obligation to pay for the Chromebook, but the police will also be informed as they have asked us to report any such incident.
